Process
Development - Ed Steward has 35 years experience in single screw
extrusion process and feedscrew development. Our FREE Extrusion Lab features a high torque 3-1/2 inch water-cooled extruder and modular (1/2", 3/4", and 1") air-cooled extruder.
Both extruders are fully instrumented with high speed computerized
data acquisition systems. A complete selection of screws
allows us to maximize screw performance for your specific
material and application.
Product
Development -
Our Extrusion Lab also includes a complete tubing extrusion system featuring
non-contact vacuum sizing and co-extrusion capabilities
along with the latest in diameter measurement technology.
This line is available for new product development as well
as existing process enhancements.
Aftermarket Upgrades - Our experienced Engineering staff can provide cost effective solutions for repairing, modifying, and upgrading your existing extruders. Conversion of cooling systems from water to air, drive and control panel upgrades, and gearbox replacements are all within our scope of supply.
Training - We offer a wide range of training seminars including Operator, Maintenance, and Plant Engineer level training. Our most popular Troubleshooting seminar covers the interconnection of mechanical, electrical, and process variables in an effort to assist processors in combating profit-stealing production interruptions. Ed Steward also offers customized comprehensive screw design seminars as well. All seminars can be given in American Kuhne's Extrusion Lab or the customer's production facility.
