AKcel “M” Series Modular
Extruders.
After
working closely with customers in both industrial and
medical markets, AK has developed the first modular
production extruders that enable barrel and screw “modules”
to be changed quickly and easily, at an affordable price.
For
applications that are very sensitive to contamination and/or
resin changes, the ability to easily separate the screw and
barrel from a machine and replace it with a clean “on-deck”
module can be critical to both product purity and
profitability. Second, for processors that run a wide range
of product sizes and throughput, the ability to change the
extruder size by quickly switching to a different diameter
screw and barrel, brings a previously unimaginable level of
processing and production scheduling versatility.
There are
three different styles to choose from. The small size can
be changed by hand and ranges from 0.5” to 1.0”. The medium
size design includes the barrel mounted on wheels and ranges
from 1.0” to 1.75”. The largest size ranges from 1.75” to
3.5”
